Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival

The 54th annual event that celebrates the birthplace of the modern shrimping industry starts with the Pirate Parade on Thursday, May 4th at 6 pm. The downtown merchants hold their annual sidewalk sale on Friday from 10 am to 6 pm. Opening ceremonies start at 6 pm, followed by the Miss Shrimp Festival Pageant, live music & fireworks! Kids Fun Zone (located at Central Park) & Waterfront food booths (run by local non-profits) open at 5 pm.  Saturday starts with the 23rd Annual Shrimp Run 5K put on by the McArthur YMCA. The festival opens with over 350 Fine Arts & Crafts booths, over 100 Antique booths, live entertainment and of course SHRIMP! Sunday includes the Blessing of the Fleet and Best Decorated Boat Parade.
